Most debit cards have daily charge limits. Depending on your bank, this daily charge limit may be as low as $500.

Please confirm the daily charge limit with your bank prior to submitting a large debit card payment. If you attempt to charge over your daily limit, your card will be declined.

Paying with a Debit Card

  • Non Refundable Airline Reservations: Unless you have requested and authorized the payment of a refundable airline ticket, the airline ticket included in your vacation is a NON REFUNDABLE airline ticket.

  • Flight Check In 24 Hours Prior to Departure: If air reservations are included in your itinerary, please be sure to check in online with your airline 24 hours prior to your flight departure.

  • Airline App: The airlines offer a smart phone app that you might like to download. The apps are a great way for the airline to push out to you any information around gate changes or flight status updates. You will need to opt in for push notifications in order to receive text alerts. Please refer to your cell carrier to inquire if they charge you for push notifications.

  • What Time Should I Arrive at the Airport?: It is recommended that you arrive at your airport 3 hours prior to the time your international flight departs. Please allow ample time to go through the line at the check in counter, the security review process and time for a restroom and refreshment break prior to boarding your flight. You may find more information about TSA wait times here. Also, you may check TSA wait times via the My TSA app.

  • Luggage Weight / Fees: Please refer to the website for your airline for their requirements around permissible luggage weight, luggage size, carry on vs. checked luggage, and price per checked bag. Please note that if the airline website indicates there will be a fee for checked luggage, that fee amount has not been collected by Happy Place Travel LLC and you will be responsible for any checked luggage fees. Also, please note that some airlines charge a more expensive checked luggage fee if you do NOT opt to prepay your checked luggage fee. It is imperative that you review your airline carrier’s website for full details.

  • Luggage / What may I bring?: Please refer to the TSA Website for the latest rules on what you may pack in your carry on vs. your checked luggage.

  • Domestic Flights: Starting May 3, 2023 all travelers who are flying within the USA (only within the 50 states and Washington, DC) are required to present either a REAL ID compliant driver’s license OR present a current/valid and in good standing passport book. More details on the REAL ID requirements may be found here.

  •  Taking a Voluntary Bump: Should your airline be overbooked and offer you the ability to take a different flight, any costs associated with this voluntary change will NOT be covered by any travel protection plan you may have purchased for this trip. Please keep in mind that any airport shuttles that are included in your reservation have your original flight arrival and departure details. Should you elect to arrive or depart at a different time than previously scheduled, it is your responsibility to contact the shuttle service and update them on your arrival/departure details. The shuttle service reserves the right to charge a shuttle service change fee.

Air Travel Arrangements

Seat Assignments:
Please note that the airlines do reserve the right to modify your seat assignment selections. While this does not happen often, it can happen. If you are passionate about your seat assignment, we recommend that you monitor your seat assignment status via your flight record locator number. If your flights were secured through Happy Place Travel LLC please refer to your travel itinerary for your flight record locator number. You are welcome to visit the airline website and enter your flight confirmation in order to see your up to the minute flight details. Happy Place Travel LLC will not be held liable for any seat assignment changes on your flights.

Airline Changes/Cancellations:
Occasionally, airlines will change flight schedules and may even cancel flights entirely. These changes are beyond the control of Happy Place Travel LLC and Happy Place Travel LLC is not liable for any additional costs that may be incurred to modify your flight arrangements due to the airline making a change in schedule. In the event that such a situation occurs with an airline ticket that you secured through Happy Place Travel LLC, Happy Place Travel LLC will work with you to find the best possible alternative flight arrangements. If the flight time change is minor (2 hours or less), the airline will automatically make the change (airline policies entitle them to legally do so). Please note that there may be additional costs to book a new flight should the airline cancel or make a major change to your original flight itinerary. Happy Place Travel LLC is not responsible for any additional costs or fees imposed by the airlines. It is the responsibility of the passenger to check for last minute airline flight changes within 24 hours of departure.

Passport BOOK Documentation:
In order for airline tickets to be processed through Happy Place Travel LLC, we require a copy of your passport book page with your name, passport book number, issuing date and your birth date. We do not recommend purchasing airline tickets prior to having your passport book issued. Should you wish to proceed with reserving your flights ahead of receiving your passport book, you do so at your own risk. Any passport book details that require edits or modifications may subject you to having your airline ticket canceled and repriced at the current fare if that flight is still available for purchase. Happy Place Travel LLC will not be liable for any charges from correcting airfare when airfare is purchased prior to you having your passport book issued and shared with Happy Place Travel. Purchasing airfare prior to having your passport book in hand is possible but please note that if your passport book arrives with an incorrect spelling and does not match the plane ticket already purchased, it will be up to you to correct your passport book and/or pay for any costs that may result from a passport name mismatch on the airline ticket. Should there be ANY expenses that arise from having your flights scheduled and purchased ahead of having your passport book in hand and shared with Happy Place Travel LLC, you will be responsible for those charges. Please note that all travelers regardless of their age, will be required to have a passport book in order to fly outside of the USA. Passport Service Guide

Passport BOOK Details:
If you are traveling out of the country, you will need to enter your passport book details into your flight record with the airline. It is recommended that you enter this information within a few days of placing your reservation. If you have not yet entered your passport book details when you go to check in for your flight, you will not be able to proceed with your check in until you enter those details. Please keep in mind that most countries require that your passport remain a valid passport book (i.e. not expired) for at least 6 months after your date of travel. Please note that a passport CARD is NOT ACCEPTABLE for travel outside of the United States involving flights.

Other Requirements Prior to Travel:
In some cases, countries may require visas to be secured prior to travel. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the proper travel documentation (passports, visas, identification, vaccinations, etc.) in order to travel abroad. Happy Place Travel LLC strongly suggests confirming your travel documentation needs with the proper government agencies: State Department Travel Site. Guests traveling without proper documentation may be denied boarding and will not be entitled to a refund.

It is imperative that you have your travel documents, your passport book and a credit or debit card on your person when you arrive at the airport. Please do NOT pack your travel documents in your checked luggage.

Travel Documents

Some trips have restrictions for pregnant travelers. For example, cruise lines will not board a passenger after her 23rd week of pregnancy. If you or a guest on your reservation are pregnant, please be sure to verify the rules of travel based on your week of pregnancy and your mode of transportation. CDC recommendations for pregnant travelers. Also, you may wish to speak to your physician about your plans of travel.

Pregnancy Restrictions

Please read the coverage information carefully. In many policies, pregnancy is considered a pre-existing condition and is not a covered cancellation reason. In this case, you may want to consider the Cancel for Any Reason coverage option (if available for your trip type).

Travel Insurance and Pregnancy

It is your responsibility to know if you are currently subject to or could be subject to mandates to not travel. Happy Place Travel LLC will not be held liable for any matters that arise due to your employer (or any other reason you could be subject to a no travel mandate) mandating that you do not travel. Should you have a job category (or any other reason you could be subjected to a no travel mandate), Happy Place Travel LLC highly recommends you purchase a Cancel For Any Reason travel protection plan for your travel dates. Please note that Military Orders will NOT exempt you from the travel supplier cancelation penalties. Without having Cancel For Any Reason protection, it is unlikely that your travel protection plan will cover cancelation or rebooking penalties.

Employer Mandated Stop Travel (or any other stop travel mandates for which you might be subjected)

When you arrive at your destination, your all inclusive resort / hotel / cruise ship will require that you have a card on file upon check in. Most cruise lines collect this card data when you complete your online check in. Please be sure to have the card with you upon check in at the guest services counter. Please know that the resort / hotel / cruise line will likely place a monetary hold on the card upon check in. The hold will remain until your travel is completed. It is up to the resort / hotel / cruise line to determine the hold amount. This is standard practice with the resorts / hotels / cruise lines. Happy Place Travel LLC simply wants to remind you of this standard practice.

Card On File

Happy Place Travel LLC recommends that you contact your cell carrier prior to travel if you desire to use your cell service while traveling. Each carrier offers different plans and price ranges for using your cell service. Happy Place Travel LLC is not liable for any charges you may incur from your cell provider. If you are comfortable using the resort / hotel / cruise ship wifi, you will want to have your phone in airplane mode so as not to accrue any international phone expenses. It is your responsibility to know any costs that might be associated with using the wifi at your travel destination.

We encourage our travelers to register with the STEP program with the US Department of State prior to leaving for your trip. Registering your travel locations and your contact info will assist in the case of any travel warnings or issues in the location where you are traveling. To register, visit this site: Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)

Please note that any edits made to your reservation after your reservation is placed on deposit, could result in a change to the overall pricing, promotions and reservation terms with the travel vendor. We recommend that you be certain that you know who will be traveling on the trip prior to making a reservation and placing a deposit. Please be sure to review the terms and conditions of your reservation for any potential costs of editing your reservation.

Editing Your Reservation

When using a Credit Card or a Debit Card outside of the USA, the charge might be subject to a foreign transaction fee from your bank. Please contact your bank and verify if your card charges fees on foreign transactions. When using your credit or debit card outside of the United States, you should assume that the amount charged is in the local currency unless the vendor tells you they are able to charge in US dollars instead. Please review the receipt to verify the currency type you are being charged.

Foreign Transaction Fees - Credit / Debit Card Use Outside of the USA

Travel Protection is recommended. If you have not yet secured travel protection, please advise if you would like to be presented with a quote. Typically, the travel protection must be secured within 14 days of deposit in order to have any potential pre-existing conditions covered. Should the travel protection plan offer a Cancel For ANY Reason coverage option (not all do), you may be required to purchase the Cancel For ANY Reason plan the same day that you place your travel deposit in order to have the Cancel For ANY Reason coverage plan active on your plan. Please note that the travel protection provider withholds the right to not cover pandemic situations or any situation that might result in a global travel crisis.

You will also want to verify if your travel protection plan is a primary to pay or a secondary to pay. Primary means that claims will run through the travel protection before they are run through your own personal insurance. Secondary to pay means that charges will be run through your personal insurance and any charges not covered by your personal insurance will then be reviewed by the travel protection plan.

Whether you have Primary or Secondary to pay travel protection, if a medical issue arises you may have to pay some costs out of pocket until arrangements can be made between your travel protection company and the medical facility.

If your resort is one that offers special amenities for Honeymoons or Anniversary trips, it is recommended that you bring a copy of your marriage certificate with you. Some resorts will require proof that your wedding date qualifies you for their honeymoon or anniversary amenities. Please be sure to notify Happy Place Travel LLC if you are celebrating a special occasion as we would like to alert the resort to this special occasion prior to your arrival. Typically, resorts will honor the honeymoon or anniversary amenities 30 days prior or 30 days post your wedding date.

Honeymoon & Anniversary Travelers

Check in time at most resorts is at 3 p.m. local time. Should you arrive at the resort prior to the permitted check in time, your room may not be ready. The resort will store your luggage so that you may start enjoying your resort amenities without delay. You may wish to pack your swimwear in your carry on so that you will be able to easily retrieve it and change in the restrooms.

In the more formal dining areas, it is typical to see that men are required to wear long pants, a collared shirt and closed toed shoes. For ladies, you are welcome to wear sundresses or capris. Please refer to your resort or cruise website for specifics around required dress codes in various areas of the property.

Children under 18 years of age not traveling with both parents or legal guardians may need to present a notarized letter from the absent parent/guardian granting permission for the minor to travel outside of the United States and provide emergency medical care if necessary. Please refer to this website for more information as well as sample letters: Minor Travel Consent Form. Traveling With Children

Late Payment Fee:
For travelers traveling as part of a group reservation, Happy Place Travel LLC reserves the right to charge you a late payment fee of $25 per day for each day the final payment receipt exceeds the due date. All reservations are subject to cancellation penalties and hotel penalties as described in the paragraph “Final Payment Date”. Late fees are not covered by travel protection plans and are always non refundable.

Solo Traveler Supplemental Cost:
With cruises and with all inclusive resorts, the solo traveler rate is typically more expensive than what your share of the cost would be if you were to have a roommate on the reservation.

Roommate Cancels:
Should you have a reservation for more than 1 guest occupancy and one of the guests must cancel their portion of the reservation, the cabin or resort room will be repriced to reflect the occupancy number that will actually travel. Please note this potential change in pricing should a roommate cancel. If you elected to purchase travel protection, it is possible that the protection plan might reimburse you for this matter. You will need to consult the travel protection company with the plan number in hand so the company can advise on potential for reimbursement. The cabin or room will have to be paid in full at the rate of the number of travelers actually traveling prior to your departure.

While in your travel destination, we recommend that you secure all valuables. Do not leave your passports, electronics, jewelry, or anything of value unattended in your room / around the resort / on your cruise. Happy Place Travel LLC will not be held liable for any items that may be stolen or damaged during your trip.

Personal Security:
During travel, please stay alert and aware of your surroundings. If you are going to be in a crowded area, watch for pick pockets. Pick pockets tend to work in crowds where they are less likely to be noticed and you are less likely to feel their presence.

Tours/Excursions:
While in your destination, you may want to schedule a spur of the moment tour. We recommend that you work with tour guides / tour providers who are insured and bonded for your protection.
